Mitrajaya Scholarship is set up to provide funds, grants, financial assistance and support to assist the individuals to realise their academic aspirations. Corporate Social Responsibility

As a corporate citizen, Mitrajaya is committed to uphold its Corporate Social Responsibility. Over the years, we have been continuously making contributions and sponsorships to various charitable and social organisation events.

Through the auspices of our Sports Club, Mitrajaya has engaged civil society in a number of tangible ways - visits to orphanages, homes for the elderly and disabled.

The Sports Club also promotes the culture of 'Work Smart, Play Hard' amongst for our staff by organising sport activities, excursion trips and family day carnivals amongst others. The Club remains a good conduit to enhance the well-being of our employees and fostering a strong team spirit.

Company Trip to Krabi

The Mitrajaya Sports and Recreational Club organised a subsidised getaway trip to Krabi, Thailand for its members. The staff enjoyed a short break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. They also had a chance to bond and get to know each other better.

Futsal Tournament

This year's annual Futsal Tournament once again brought together an even bigger pool of teams vs the previous year's record turnout, with 16 mens teams and 3 womens teams competing for top futsal honours! Despite the fierce competition, fair play and the great Mitrajaya spirit prevailed!

Fire Drill at the Headquarters

All staff based at the Headquarters participated in the Fire Drill as part of our Annual Safety event. The staff were briefed and trained on how to evacuate the building during an emergency as well as how to move an injured person out safely.

Mitrajaya Charity Run 2017

The Mitrajaya Charity Run 2017 was held at Taman Wetland, Putrajaya. A total of about 1400 participants and more than 100 volunteers took part in this event. There were three categories – Open Category 10 km, Fun Run 5 km and Veteran Category 5 km. The event was a big success and it raised a total of RM 80,000 for six charities, which are National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, St John Malaysia, Kawasan Selangor Selatan, Malaysia Nature Society and Persatuan Dialisis Kurnia Petaling Jaya. Goody bags, finisher medals and lucky draw prizes were also given out during the event. NKF opened a booth to perform free blood and urine test for all the participants and volunteers.

Enhancing Team Spirit & Work Performance

To build a cohesive team, meet the business targets, boost team work and communication with each other, the Company organised a team building training for 45 employees in Paradise Valley Broga, Semenyih recently. With a little practice and games, employees from various departments and sites came together to get to know each other and develop cohesive working relationships. The participants also brought back with them knowledge in collaboration and the fostering of innovation and creativity.

Celebrating Malaysia Day Differently

20 Mitrajaya staff joined the Master Builders Association Malaysia's (MBAM) 3 days 2 nights CSR programme at the Tasik Temenggor Orang Asli Village in Royal Belum Forest Reserve, Perak. The CSR programme entitled "Light for Life" was to help to upgrade the living standards of the residents in Kampung Chuweh Baru, Kampung Chuweh and Kampung Tebang. Mitrajaya not only contributed cash for the project, the 20 staff helped to repaint 2 generator sets, installed 4 water tanks which weigh not less than 400 kg per tank, physically digging trenches to bury the electricity cables, refurbished the mini library, installed standing fans and donated some items like books and t-shirts for the villagers. It was hard and tiring work but all the Mitrajaya participants enjoyed the meaningful event and felt proud they contributed positively to the society.

Masquerade Night

Mitrajaya celebrated its 32nd anniversary with a Masquerade themed gala dinner at the Four Points Hotel, Puchong. The highlights of the night included an opening speech by the Group Managing Director Mr Tan Eng Piow, a cake cutting ceremony, staff games, Best Dressed competition and Lucky Draw prizes.

Badminton Tournament

This year's Badminton Tournament was held at the KSL Sport Puchong. The tournament gave the opportunity for employees to show off their talents and skills in badminton. Participants competed in five categories where cash prizes and trophies were up for grabs: Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

Skytrex Adventure

This year's Skytrex Adventure saw 30 members of all ages gather at Skytrex Shah Alam for a climb into the canopy of the forest. Members braved the heights at the tree tops, and were treated to the adrenaline rushing finale of a Flying Fox glide.

Mitrajaya Supports MBAM Scholarship 2017

Mitrajaya is proud to be one of the sponsors of the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) Education Fund Scholarship Award 2017. An award presentation was held at the Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, where the Chairman of Mitrajaya Holdings Berhad, General Tan Sri Ismail Bin Hassan (R) and the Managing Director of Pembinaan Mitrajaya Sdn Bhd & President of MBAM, Mr Foo Chek Lee presented the Mitrajaya-MBAM scholarship to Mr Goh Wang Siang. The deserving recipient is a 1st Year Civil Engineering student from University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) who will be receiving RM 10,000 per year for the duration of his degree programme.

Hari Raya Celebrations

Mitrajaya organised a festive get together lunch for its employees in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebrations. The event was made special as orphans from Pusat Pendidikan Limpahan Kasih and Pusat Pertubuhan Kebajikan At-Taqwa were invited to join as special guests to share the festivities together. The event started off with a speech from the Group Managing Director, Mr Tan Eng Piow followed by the presentation of donations to the two Orphanages. The orphans were also treated with Duit Raya packets distributed by the Managing Director, Mr Foo Chek Lee. Everyone was entertained during lunch by the special Raya performance put together by Pusat Pendidikan Limpahan Kasih. The event also included the opening ceremony of the newly renovated company gymnasium. This facility is equipped with the latest gym equipment for the exclusive usage of Mitrajaya employees.

Safety First CPR Training

A CPR training was conducted for the employees of Mitrajaya. 45 employees from various departments were selected to attended this training where they were taught ways to detect a medical emergency as well as methods to administer CPR. Participants were also given opportunity to practice CPR steps on a manikin.

Paintball Tournament

This year's Mitrajaya Paintball Tournament was held at Extreme Park Sunway South Quay, Bandar Sunway. The tournament was held to foster teamwork and encourage camaraderie amongst the employees. The top three teams were awarded with cash prizes.

Movie Day and Buka Puasa

Ramadan month provided an opportunity to combine 2 activities into one, where the Sports & Recreational Club members and their guests were treated to a Buka Puasa buffet, followed by a movie screening of the Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. It was a full house, inside the dedicated movie hall at TGV Cinemas, Setiawalk, with a capacity of 112 pax. Early birds were also given a free popcorn and drink to enjoy while being humoured by Mr Johnny Depp and his cast.

Blood Donation Drive

Mitrajaya worked together with Pusat Darah Negara to organise its annual blood donation drive held at Mitrajaya's Headquarters. The staff gave the gift of life by donating a total of 25 pints of blood this year.

Bowling Tournament

This year's annual Bowling Tournament was our first team-based competition, where 20 teams of 3 bowlers each battled it out for top honours, at Ampang Supwerbowl, IOI Mall Puchong. There were cash prizes for the top 3 steams for the Male and Female categories, while the highest scoring Male and Female participant also received a cash prize.

National Skin Day

Mitrajaya contributed as a Gold Sponsor for the National Skin Day 2017 Costume Charity Walk. The event was successfully held at the beautiful Setia City Park, Setia Alam. The event is meant to educate the public on the importance of looking after their skin and to inform the youths about getting their acne treated early by dermatologist before the development of unwanted scars. Almost 1000 people attended the program, many came with their superhero t-shirts or capes and some had specially made costumes of movie characters. This event was organised by the Malaysian Dermatological Society (Persatuan Dermatologi Malaysia) in conjunction with Ichthyosis Awareness Month, Putra Medical Club (PMC) and Medical Student Association (MESTA), two medical student bodies in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

Conquering the Peak

After a 2 year hiatus, the expedition to Mount Kinabalu, Sabah is back again! Mitrajaya SRC organised the long awaited Mount Kinabalu expedition on April 2017, with the total number of 18 participants from different age groups and ranks. This hike was an opportunity for the hiking enthusiasts and beginners alike to push their limits and also to condition their bodies. A big shout-out to those who completed the hike and kudos to those who conquered the 4095m peak.

White Water Rafting Excursion

A fully subsidised white water rafting trip was organised by the Sports & Recreational Club at Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor. A total of 30 employees joined the thrilling adventure.

Karaoke Competition

The Sports & Recreational Club organised a Karaoke Competition at Neway, Puchong. The competition had two categories which were Best Male and Best Female vocalist. The winners were rewarded with cash prizes. The event gave the opportunity for employees to bond and show off their vocal talents.

Mitrajaya Celebrates CNY

In conjunction with the "Chinese New Year – The Year of Rooster" celebrations, all staff were invited for a luncheon held at Mitrajaya's Headquaters. The Group Managing Director, Mr. Tan Eng Piow officiated the event. A lion dance troupe was engaged to visit all the departments to bring good luck and fortune. The staff also enjoyed the energetic lion dance performance held at the main entrance of the office. The event continued by a special gift presentation from the staff to the Group Managing Director, Mr. Tan Eng Piow for leading the Company to be recognised as one of the Forbes Asia's 'Best Under a Billion' in 2016 and to be selected as one of the best CEOs in 2016 by Focus Malaysia. Certificate of Competency were also presented to 22 employees who passed the First Aid examinations held late last year. The management also took the opportunity to celebrate the birthdays of employees born in the month of February with a cake cutting ceremony.

Night Race

The Sports & Recreational Club organised a Night Karting race where employees had a chance to show off their racing skills. The event was held at the Speedway Plus Circuit, USJ.

Mitrajaya Shows Support for Welfare Shelter

Mitrajaya contributed a cash donation, hampers, ang pow distribution to the residents and electrical items to Persatuan Kebajikan Ci Hang-Chempaka, Selangor. Apart from housing abandoned old folks, the shelter also provides free physiotherapy and stroke rehabilitation treatments to poor and deserving patients, as well as providing free tuition lessons to poor students thus to raise their level of education and self-development for a better future. Mr Kong Yee Teck, Senior Group HR & Admin Manager was present to handover the donations to the shelter.

Mitrajaya Spreads CNY Cheer

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations, Mitrajaya paid a visit to Tong Sim Senior Citizen Care Centre at Salak Selatan. This centre provides housing and care for senior citizens who have been abandoned by their families. The centre currently consists of 70 elderly folks and 4 caretakers. The event kicked off with a performance by local singer, followed by a sing-along session where all chimed in cheerfully to classic Chinese New Year Songs. The residents had a wonderful time as they were treated to a dinner, entertainment and hampers.

Mitrajaya Brings Joy to Rumah Charis

To kick start the Year of Rooster, Mitrajaya organised its 1st CSR event of the year to pay a visit to the Rumah Charis. Currently, they have two homes serving 45 children and 25 old folks. Around 20 Mitrajaya employees joined this visit and had dinner together with the residents there. There was also a clown to present a magic show and balloon sculptures to the children and old folks. At the end of the visit, a cash donation, hampers, daily necessities, mandarins, as well as handing out of ang pows were presented to the residents of the home.

Family Day

Our Family Day was held at Sunway Lagoon, organised by the Sports and Recreational Club, where more than 200 staff and family members enjoyed a splashing Sunday at the waterpark. It was a day of good weather, with great fun at the water park for adults and kids alike.
