More than 150 employees attended each of the training session. Topics covered included good housekeeping practices and the need to change, personal responsibility and commitment to the job. On the same occasion, the Deputy Managing Director of Pembinaan Mitrajaya Sdn Bhd, Mr. Bibhuti Nath Jha shared some development of the current industry challenges including the Company's challenges for the year ahead.
Corporate Social Responsibility
As a corporate citizen, Mitrajaya is committed to uphold its Corporate Social Responsibility. Over the years, we have been continuously making contributions and sponsorships to various charitable and social organisation events.
Through the auspices of our Sports Club, Mitrajaya has engaged civil society in a number of tangible ways - visits to orphanages, homes for the elderly and disabled.
The Sports Club also promotes the culture of 'Work Smart, Play Hard' amongst for our staff by organising sport activities, excursion trips and family day carnivals amongst others. The Club remains a good conduit to enhance the well-being of our employees and fostering a strong team spirit.
Feeding the Homeless
Mitrajaya collaborated with Kechara Soup Kitchen to distribute food to the homeless. With the kind guidance from the members of Kechara, 20 of the Mitrajaya staff went around Pudu, Chow Kit, Brickfields, Petaling Street, Pasar Seni and few other places around Kuala Lumpur to distribute food. There are many homeless people who need help and require food, clothing and medicine. This event helped the participating staff to appreciate what they have now as well as raise their awareness on the existence of such unlucky people. Hopefully Malaysians can change their perception on the homeless for being lazy and doesn't want to work. Each of them has a different life story and we should help this unfortunate community.
This year, the Sports and Recreational Club kicked off the fiscal year with a Movie Day. It was a full house in the 112-seat capacity cinema hall, where members and their guests watched the highly anticipated blockbuster "Avengers : Infinity Wars".
Company Trip to Krabi
The Sports and Recreational Club organised a repeat of last year's members' getaway to Krabi, due to popular demand, which included the recipient of the grand prize of last year's Annual Dinner lucky draw! Members spent 3 days soaking in the sea breeze, tranquil waters, and amazing Thai food, not to forget the (ahem) occasional trinket shopping!
Creating a Brighter Tomorrow
Mitrajaya continues to have an active role in contributing positively to the society. On 20 April 2018, Mitrajaya donated a total of RM 12,000 to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong. A cheque presentation ceremony was held at the school whereby Ms. Kok Siew Leng, our Sales & Marketing Director presented the cheque to Puan Hajah Zainon, the school's principal. The objective of this donation is mainly to provide financial assistance to the school to improve the classroom facilities. Part of the donation will also be channelled to the less fortunate students. During the principal's speech, she expressed her gratitude to Mitrajaya and said that the school has been trying to find sponsors to transform the classrooms in order to create better, conducive and well-maintained classrooms for the students. This makes a positive difference to the student's learning.
Celebrating Chinese New Year
Mitrajaya organised a get-together lunch for all employees at its Headquaters to celebrate Chinese New Year. The event started off with a lion dance performance followed by a scrumptious buffet lunch. We also took the opportunity to celebrate the birthdays of the employees born in the month of January and February with a cake cutting ceremony.

The employees played games with the children, organised quiz activities and had dinner together with the children. During this visit, we have donated daily necessities and cash to Rumah Hope. In conjunction with the Chinese New Year, we also distributed angpow to the children and gave them hampers.
