The Sports Club brought back the hugely popular Buka Puasa + Movie Day this year, treating members and family to a scrumptious Ramadan buffet at the cinema, followed by a screening of what is expected to be one of the highest grossing blockbusters ever - Avengers : Endgame. The movie didn't disappoint, and whether you were a fan of the franchise or not, it had the thrills and spills, the emotional roller coaster of loss and love, more than living up to the hype as the climatic finale to the Avengers series.

As a corporate citizen, Mitrajaya is committed to uphold its Corporate Social Responsibility. Over the years, we have been continuously making contributions and sponsorships to various charitable and social organisation events.
Through the auspices of our Sports Club, Mitrajaya has engaged civil society in a number of tangible ways - visits to orphanages, homes for the elderly and disabled.
The Sports Club also promotes the culture of 'Work Smart, Play Hard' amongst for our staff by organising sport activities, excursion trips and family day carnivals amongst others. The Club remains a good conduit to enhance the well-being of our employees and fostering a strong team spirit.
The Sports Club organised its first extreme sports event of the year, All Terrain Vehicle Adventure at Ulu Klang, where members joined a 2-hour off-road excursion on 4-wheeled off-road bikes ending with a chance to have a dip at the Sofea Jane Waterfall!
Our Family Day was held at our very own water park at Wangsa 9 Residency, Wangsa Maju. It was a day of splashing good fun for the adults and kids alike. Apart from playing at the water park, the staff and their family members took part in some team building games and a checkers tournament. The afternoon concluded with a prize giving ceremony to the winners and everyone was treated to a scrumptious buffet lunch.
Visiting Senior Loved Ones
Mitrajaya once again successfully organised a CSR event and this time we visited Ci-Hang Chempaka Welfare Association, Selangor. A total of 11 employees participated in the event. The aim of this visit was to show care and love to the elderly in the old folk's home. The activities held include donation and hamper presentation to the home. In conjunction with the Chinese New Year, we also had ang pow distribution to the residents and caretakers of Ci-Hang Chempaka Welfare Association. Next, we enjoyed some light refreshments and played some games together with the senior citizens. We closed the event with a karaoke session, it was a rewarding and meaningful visit and everyone had a great time.
Memorable Moments with Youngsters
Mitrajaya organised the first CSR activity for the year 2019 during the Chinese New Year. We visited Pusat Jagaan Ragaventhirar Karunai, Taman Balakong Jaya, Seri Kembangan, a sanctuary for the abused, neglected and under-privileged children between the ages of 3-17 years old. The home had a total of 18 children staying there. In conjunction with the Chinese New Year, the first activity was the ang pow distribution to the children. The highlight of the event was when the children demonstrated an Indian dance performance and all the volunteers participated in the dance, it was the most fun and interactive moments we had. Before end of the event, a simple dinner was served. The Company donated some cash for the daily necessities, sponsored the utilities and house rental for home in order to reduce their burden.
Lunar New Year Celebrations
Mitrajaya Holdings Berhad organised a get-together lunch for all employees at the Headquarters to celebrate Chinese New Year. The Group Managing Director, Mr Tan Eng Piow officiated the event with an auspicious lion dance performance. The performance was later followed by firecrackers set-up which symbolises good luck and fortune throughout the year. The celebration continues with a cake-cutting ceremony for employees who were born in the month of February. The Chinese New Year lunch would not be complete without the traditional toss of Yee Sang for prosperity and good fortune. The event concluded with a delicious buffet lunch.
Dengue Fever Prevention
Pembinaan Mitrajaya Sdn Bhd played a part in the prevention of dengue fever by volunteering in gotong royong events organised by the Health Department of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. Alongside other volunteers, our employees conducted mass fogging and clearing of stagnant water by cleaning-up of drains and clearing of rubbish around the Precinct 11, Putrajaya area. These efforts help to prevent the spread of dengue fever by eliminating the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.
