The Sports and Recreational Club organised a trip to Royal Belum State Park in Perak, where members got to embark on an extraordinary voyage and delve into the lush, emerald ambiance of Temengor Lake and the untouched Belum rainforest, where nature thrives in its most pristine and enchanting form. Participants also got to visit Orang Asli Village, the Jahai Tribe, with the main goal of bringing cheer and learning their unique way of life. They live in their traditional way in bamboo huts, hunting small mammals using blowpipes, fishing, and gathering plants and honey from the forest. The Club provided small grocery items for the families, small toys, coloring books, crackers, and candies for the kids.
Mitrajaya Scholarship
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility effort, Mitrajaya grants scholarships every year to the needy to enroll to local and private universities throughout the country. Mitrajaya Scholarship is set up to provide funds, grants, financial assistance and support to assist the individuals to realise their academic aspirations. As a corporate citizen, Mitrajaya is committed to uphold its Corporate Social Responsibility. Over the years, we have been continuously making contributions and sponsorships to various charitable and social organisation events.
Through the auspices of our Sports Club, Mitrajaya has engaged civil society in a number of tangible ways - visits to orphanages, homes for the elderly and disabled.
The Sports Club also promotes the culture of 'Work Smart, Play Hard' amongst for our staff by organising sport activities, excursion trips and family day carnivals amongst others. The Club remains a good conduit to enhance the well-being of our employees and fostering a strong team spirit.

The Marvels Movie Day
For the 3rd and final Movie Day of the year, the Sports & Recreational Club returned to The Starling Mall to watch the superhero blockbuster The Marvels. Everyone brought family and friends to enjoy the kid-friendly theatre room, hearty kids fun meals, and popcorn, capping off a memorable and fun weekend out!
Visit to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai (YM) Selangor
Mitrajaya organised a CSR program for Deepavali at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai (YM) Selangor, Taman Maju, Kajang. This charity cares for 60 people, including elderly abandoned by families and underprivileged children. Dr. M. Rajan, the founder, expressed gratitude for cash, supplies, and angpao. We hope that the monetary support will help the organisation to provide services and care to the unfortunate elderly folks and kids to experience the same love and care as their peers, bringing a ray of hope and happiness to their lives.
Bowling Tournament
It was a bowling good time during the annual Bowling Tournament. Teams of Trios battled to set apart the bowlers with talent to "spare", and those who would ultimately "strike" the grand prize and be crowned champions!
MBAM Futsal Tournament
Mitrajaya proudly took part in the 2023 Master Builders Association Malaysia Futsal Tournament, which was held to foster enhanced collaboration and networking opportunities within the construction industry. Our dedicated team displayed unwavering determination as they faced off against formidable opponents. Although we narrowly missed advancing to the knockout stages due to goal difference, be assured that Team Mitrajaya will return stronger and more determined next year!
Futsal Tournament
The Sports & Recreational Club held its annual Futsal Tournament once again in Puchong, in league format and playoffs. The victors walked away with prizes and medals, but every participant could take pride in the remarkable display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Badminton Tournament
This year's annual Badminton Tournament was a smashing success, with staff demonstrating their agility and remarkable racket finesse to win medals and cash prizes in both the Singles and Doubles categories.
Mitrajaya 38th Anniversary Dinner
Mitrajaya celebrated its 38th Year Anniversary in Four Points By Sheraton, Puchong. It was not only a night to dress up as Barbie or Ken, but also to enjoy the eclectic staff performances, the huge buffet spread, and the great company of fellow colleagues. Everyone had a chance to win fabulous prizes in the lucky draw too!
Paintball Tournament
This year marked the return of our Paintball Tournament, where teams of 5's battled on various terrain and obstacle courses in Cyberjaya. The victors of the league-style tournament walked away with cash prizes, and perhaps some paintball bruises as a memento of their triumphant day.
Fun Rug Tufting Workshop
This was an opportunity to learn how to create rug-tufting masterpieces. It was a hands-on class and staff were excited to try their very first attempt at rug tufting. This event proved to be a very enjoyable and a super fun experience for everyone.
White Water Rafting
White Water Rafting was the perfect activity to quell this season's heat wave, and this perennial favourite among staff did not disappoint. Everyone braved the 8km long rapids of Sungai Selangor, and it was non-stop thrills and spills, for an adrenaline rush like no other.
Weekly Zumba Classes
The Sports and Recreational Club revived its weekly Zumba classes which are fully subsidised for staff, at Mitrajaya Headquarters' gym, in line with its drive to promote healthier living. The first session drew a large crowd eager to dance to the Latin beats for great cardio workout!
Movie Day
The year's second Movie Day brought together staff, family and friends for a screening of the highly anticipated sequel Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse. With the cinema's in-room playground, food and drink, and a movie that matched the blockbuster hype, everyone surely had a fun and memorable Sunday morning.
Electric Go Kart Night Race
For this year's annual Go Kart Competition, it was all electric! No petrol fumes, no engine noise, but still as exhilarating for the 17 participants, all eyeing the cash prizes, and bragging rights to be Mitrajaya's top speedster!
Donation to the Underprivileged
As part of Mitrajaya's Hari Raya CSR Programme, we contributed a cash donation of RM5,000 to Persatuan Insan Istimewa Cheras, Selangor in support of the special needs community. This non-profit organisation was founded in 2009 with the goal of providing children with various degrees of mental and physical impairments with expert care, rehabilitation programmes, specialised treatment, daily living skills training and educational assistance. We hope that the monetary support will help to provide services and care to these unfortunate abandoned children from poor families to experience the same love and care as their peers, bringing a glimmer of hope and happiness to their lives.
Trip to Redang
The Sports Club organised another 3D2N beach holiday, this time to the picturesque Redang Island, where everyone had a chance to explore the island's beaches, snorkle among the island's many coral reefs, and enjoy the great food that the Laguna Resort had to offer.
Movie Day & Buka Puasa Event
This Ramadan brought back the perennial Movie Day and Buka Puasa event, this time at Setiawalk Puchong. It proved to be a crowd pleaser, with a total of 55 staff, family and friends in attendance, kicking off with a scrumptious buffet spread, followed by a screening of Keanu Reeves' blockbuster movie John Wick : Chapter 4.
Trip to Club Med Cherating
The year's first holiday trip was to Malaysia's premier all-inclusive resort Club Med Cherating, where staff and their loved ones enjoyed 3 days of great weather, awesome activities and a free-flow of food and drinks for a well-deserved break away from the city hustle and bustle.
Visit to the Senior Citizen Care Centre
Ten Mitrajaya staff visited Tong Sim Senior Citizen Care Centre, a home located at Jalan Dewan Bahasa, Kuala Lumpur. This centre provides housing and care for 60 elderly folks who have been abandoned by their families. We engaged in conversations, played games, distributed ang pow and provided the residents with much-needed supplies like daily necessities and medical supplies. We also treated them to a special lunch and freshly baked cupcakes. It was a fulfilling experience as the elderly had a wonderful time and that showed us the power of small acts of kindness and empathy.
ATV Adventure at Semenyih
The Sports Club kicked off the new year with lots of thrills and spills, this time with a marathon 3 hour ATV ride through the challenging countryside of Semenyih. The 17 km long trek on 4 wheels traversed rocky terrain, forest reserve, and even tributaries of Sungai Batangsi. It was an adventure like no other!
